Tramer l’espace

Tramer l’espace was created for the Chapelle des Récollets as part of the Nuit Blanche in Paris, on June 1, 2024.

The installation was created on-site at the invitation of la Maison de l’architecture Île-de-France,  in partnership with Hénéo – Résidence des Récollets. The project received support from the City of Paris’s International Residency Program.

Tramer l’espace is a work that is both delicate and monumental. Constantly transforming, it leads us to question reality and plays with our perception, to the rhythm of the lighting cycles and our wanderings.

The installation offers the visitor a dual interpretation: one constructed and coherent, to be appreciated with lights on, and the other created from light and revealed in the darkness. Everything here is a question of perspective. Beyond these two visions coexisting within the same object, it is the experience of the metamorphosis of matter itself that is of interest to me.

Space here takes on several dimensions: one that unfolds before us in its reality and that we organize according to our desires, expectations, and limitations, and one of the mind, which mingles with perspective, sound judgment, and knows no boundaries.
