Bleu majorelle
It was at Yves Saint-Laurent and Pierre Bergé’s Jardin Majorelle boutique in Marrakech that I bought a small can of Bleu Majorelle paint. It’s been hanging out in the workshop for a long time. I make this blue, which is similar to Yves Klein’s Blue, the main subject of the December shipment.
The choice of the words PROFOND (deep) and DÉMENT (insane – which reads deeply in french when both words are joined together) seems appropriate to me considering both the intensity of the color, and the particular year that has just ended.
