An artist life
Writing occupies an important place in my life. In addition to providing salary, writing remains a natural part of my creative process. This month’s letter uses text extracts of a grant proposal submitted this month for producing paintings from the Extases series.
I have always written down my ideas in notebooks. Before writing or drawing a sketch, I print the day’s date in the page’s top right corner with an ink pad. It is a routine gesture that marks time, as often in my work.
